Printable Graph Paper: Make a Custom PDF Online
Use printable graph paper when a plain square grid is more useful than a pre-filled worksheet. Start with a Letter or A4 page, set the square spacing your task requires, then export a PDF that prints at the intended scale.
Choose the grid size first
Smaller squares work well for detailed arithmetic, graphs and diagrams. Larger squares leave more room for geometry, classroom demonstrations and sketching. Check whether your task calls for millimetres, centimetres or inches before you print.
Print graph paper accurately
Select the same page size in the export and printer dialogs. Print at Actual Size or 100%; Fit to Page can change the square size and make a measured grid inaccurate.
When a different grid is better
Use dot paper for flexible notes, isometric paper for 3D sketches, and hex grids for maps or game layouts. Each serves a different drawing task better than a square grid.
